Open MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is considered one of the greatest medical breakthroughs since the discovery of x-rays in 1895. In use since the early 1980's MRI systems use a combination of advanced magnets and radio wave technology to produce images of the human body with the clarity of anatomical textbook illustrations. MRI is extensively used in studying the brain and spine as well as the body and the musculoskeletal system. MRIs are also used to image blood vessels providing insight into the chemical components of selected tissue.

Central Imaging of Arlington uses:

  • Signa Ovation 35T Open MRI
    • Patients have more room, measuring 4.5 feet pole to pole with 17 inches of head room. This machine can accommodate claustrophobic patients and those patients up to 600 pounds. For easy access, the machine lowers to 23 inches from the floor easing access for our patients.
